    • A case for an electronic device includes a front member having an aperture for interacting with a touchscreen of the electronic device and a back member that includes a rechargeable power cell, a switched electrical interface, an electromechanical switch, and current monitoring circuitry. The switched electrical interface has an enabled mode in which electrical current is permitted to flow from the rechargeable power cell of the case to the installed electronic device and a disabled mode in which the electrical current is not permitted to flow to the installed electronic device. The electromechanical switch transitions the switched electrical interface from the disabled mode to the enabled mode. The current monitoring circuitry automatically toggles the switched electrical interface from the enabled mode to the disabled mode when the magnitude of the electrical current flowing from the case to the electronic device decreases to a predetermined value.

    • A transponder for facilitating financial transaction communications is provided. The transponder includes a detector, a processing module, and a magnetic field source. The detector detects a first time varying magnetic field generated by a mobile electronic device. The first time varying magnetic field is encoded with financial account information. The processing module decodes the detected time varying magnetic field to recover the financial account information. The magnetic field source generates a second time varying magnetic field for detection by a magnetic read head of a point-of-sale terminal. The second time varying magnetic field is modulated with the recovered financial account information according to a sequence that corresponds to a standardized format for encoding a magnetic strip of a credit card readable by the magnetic read head of the point-of-sale terminal.

    • System and method of providing data to a mobile application accessible at a mobile device via different network connections without interruption and mobile devices which hand over connectivity from one network connection to another network connection without interruption in application data flow and methods therefor are disclosed. The method, which may be implemented on a system includes, receiving data for the mobile application over a network connection different from a first network connection, and/or providing the data received over the network connection including any other data received from the first network connection, to the mobile application in a manner that is without interruption in data flow. The data is provided to the mobile application without interruption even when connections to the different network connections require change in IP addresses. One embodiment includes, a system for managing handover from a first wireless connection to a second wireless connection for applications, including, a network interface operable operable to receive first data from a first wireless network and receive second data for the application from a second wireless network and generate a continuous data flow for applications when handover from the first wireless network to the second wireless network occurs.
