    • This disclosure provides methods and apparatus for wirelessly transferring power. A first aspect of this disclosure is an apparatus for receiving power wirelessly. The apparatus comprises a receive circuit configured to receive wireless communication and charging power. The apparatus also comprises a metallic structure defining a gap extending from a first surface to a second surface, and through the metallic structure, the first surface opposite the second surface. The metallic structure is configured to receive the charging power from a wireless charging field oscillating at a first frequency. The metallic structure is further configured to convey the received power to the receive circuit via first and second connecting feeds. The metallic structure is also further configured to shield the receive circuit from interference at frequencies other than the first frequency.

    • The present disclosure described herein relates to wireless power transfer systems and methods that efficiently and safely transfer power to electronic devices. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method for wirelessly transmitting power is provided. The method includes during a first time period, transmitting power at a first power level from a wireless power transmitter to the wireless power receiver. The method further includes determining a frequency for transmitting power at a second power level based on a ratio of a current level of the wireless power receiver to a current level of a wireless power transmitter at the first power level. The method further includes during a second time period, transmitting power at the second power level and at the frequency, the first power level lower than the second power level.

    • Methods and apparatus are discloses for position a vehicle. In one aspect, an apparatus for positioning a vehicle is provided. The apparatus comprises a plurality of receive, each configured to generate a respective voltage signal from a wireless magnetic field generated by a field generator. The apparatus further comprises a processor configured to determine a first set of data based on the respective voltage signals generated by the plurality of receive coils, and reduce the first set of data to a second set of data that is substantially constant regardless of relative rotation between the plurality of receive coils and the field generator. The apparatus is further configured to determine a plurality of candidate positions based upon the second set of data, which are used to determine a position and an orientation with respect to the field generator based on the first set of data.
