摘要： Various implementations include a linear actuator that provides controllable depressurization of the actuator and is tunable to the specifications set by the vehicle manufacturer. The linear actuator includes a housing and a piston and piston rod that are slidably disposed within a channel extending through the housing. The piston rod defines a vent path that includes an axial cavity adjacent the proximal end of the piston rod and radial channel extending from the axial cavity to an outer peripheral surface of the piston rod. Pressurized gas entering the housing causes the piston to move axially through the housing, and a portion of the gas vents through the cavity and radial channel to the channel of the housing and then to the environment. This venting allows the actuator to be returned to its initial or stored position within a time frame and without exceeding the force set by the manufacturer.

摘要： Various implementation of a light bar warning system for a steering wheel of a vehicle include a liquid crystal display (LCD), a light guide, and at least one light source disposed adjacent the light guide. The LCD and light guide having arcuate shaped surfaces that follow along a portion of the steering wheel rim. Light emitted from the light source is transmitted through the light guide and out of its outer surface into an inner surface of the LCD that is disposed adjacent the light guide. The light is emitted through portions of the LCD that are activated for illumination by an LCD driver. The LCD may provide various types of warnings to the operator, including blind spot warnings, forward collision/proximity warnings, and lane departure warnings, for example.

摘要： Systems and methods of printing sensor loops on a sensor mat for use in a steering wheel are disclosed herein. For example, the sensor mat may include a base substrate, one or more printed sensing loops, and an insulating material. The printed sensing loops are made with conductive ink that is disposed upon the base substrate or the insulating layer from a print head and adheres thereto. These sensor mats are versatile with respect to the type of base substrate and insulating materials that may be used, the shape of the sensing loops, and the area each loop may occupy. Shielding loop(s) may also be printed adjacent the sensing loop(s). This configuration allows shielding for the sensing loops as part of the sensing mat, which may reduce the thickness of the steering wheel rim and manufacturing and installation times.
