摘要： Examples of automated gemstone feeding are described. According to an example, a gemstone feeding machine (100) includes a conveyor belt assembly (108) to feed holders (112) carrying gemstones. The conveyor belt assembly (108) can include a plurality of conveyor belts (116) in two sets positioned parallel to each other and the two sets can move in opposite directions. Each belt in one set can be positioned alternately with respect to each belt in the other set. The assembly (108) can include a fixed guiding plate (206) at a first end of the conveyor belts and a detachable guiding plate (208) adjacent to the loading assembly (105) at a second end of the conveyor belts. The fixed guiding plate (206) and the detachable guiding plate (208) each comprises a plurality of transition profiles (214, 216) in alignment with immediately adjacent conveyor belts.

The housing (102) includes a tray (120) for holding a plurality of gemstones. The housing (102) further includes a vibrating mechanism to vibrate the tray (120) after a pre-defined time period. The vibrating mechanism arranges the plurality of gemstones in one level. Further, the housing (102) includes a middle plate (113) to hold a camera (114). The camera (114) is positioned directly above the tray (120) to capture images of the tray (120) each time the tray (120) is vibrated by the vibrating mechanism. The images are processed by a processing unit to count number of gemstones in the tray (120).

摘要： Examples of gemstone verification are described herein. In one example, for processing a gemstone, pre-stored marking coordinates associated with a gemstone ID are obtained, the pre-stored marking coordinates generated during planning phase of the processing. Further, real-time marking coordinates for the gemstone to be processed are also obtained. An identity of the gemstone is verified based on a comparison of the pre-stored marking coordinates with the real-time marking coordinates. Further, information, including cutting parameters, associated with the gemstone ID of the gemstone is retrieved in response to a valid verification of the identity of the gemstone, for processing the gemstone.

摘要： The present subject matter relates to automated gemstone feeding in a gemstone processing machine (100). In an implementation, the gemstone processing machine (100) has a feeding conduit unit 110 to receive a rough gemstone (102) affixed to a holder (104) from a user. The feeding conduit unit (110) delivers the holder to a base plate (112). An actuating arm (114) picks the holder (106) from the base plate (112) and transfers the holder (106) to a pre- defined position in the gemstone processing machine (100). The automated feeding mechanism is controlled by the computing device and uses low-cost hardware equipment having limited or no manual intervention. Thus, providing an apt tradeoff between the accuracy of transfer of the rough gemstone and the cost associated with the equipment used for the processing of the gemstone.

The cross member (114) is an automated moving member, configured such that a home position of the cross member (114) coincides with a pre-defined point on the base plate (112). 摘要： The present subject matter relates to aspects of planning of a rough gemstone (300). In one example, a plurality of images of the rough gemstone at different orientations is captured. In addition, laser light made be made incident on the rough gemstone and captured by a mapping device to determine contours of the rough gemstone surface. Thereafter, a first three-dimensional model (3D) may be generated using the captured images and the determined contours. In an example, the first 3D model may be processed to identify a number and size of cavities (302-1) on the surface the rough gemstone. Further, based on the size, each cavity is supplemented by one or more 3D objects in the first 3D model. Thereafter, a second 3D model is generated in which the cavities are replaced by the 3D objects.
