摘要： The invention relates to a device for continuously skimming off a floating toplayer, e.g. a layer of oil row grease upon a flow of waste water, by means of a floating skimming off container of which the edge is adjustable according to the height level of the floating toplayer to be skimmed off. According to a characteristic of the invention the skimming off container (1, 36) mainly consists of a flat bottom part (3, 37), directing to the layer to be skimmed off with connecting side walls (5, 6 respectively 38, 39) and a rear wall (2, 40). The skimming off container (1, 36) at its bottom side, merges into a recessed part to which a discharge pipe (9, 44) provided with an aperture (10, 44a) is attached. The container is made tiltable around this pipe in which the direction and extent of tilting is determined by the difference between the quantity of the inflowing (skimmed off) layer and the quantity which can be discharged through the pipe.

The separator comprises a lightweight material outlet (31) with an overflow edge (33) over which the separated lightweight materials can be constantly discharged.
