    • The invention relates to intake systems, especially for the intake air of an internal combustion engine. Said intake systems comprises a filter insert (19) in a housing (10) that is linked with the air conduction system by means of several inlets (13) and an outlet (22). Said inlets (13) are provided with air intake fittings (14) that lead to a single flow chamber (20) of the filter insert (19). The inlets can be individually closed by flaps (24), allowing the acoustics to be influenced favorably and allowing, for example, a temperature-dependent connection or disconnection of individual air intake fittings. The inventive system further limits the number of components required. The design of the especially wedge-shaped flow chamber (20) minimizes flow losses in the housing (10), which in turn reduces the air intake noise. The inventive design also allows for the provision of shunt resonators (28) using cap elements (29) and (30).
