    • The present invention relates to an endoscope optic system having a base unit with a proximal end and a distal end, an optical system, an illumination device, an image relay device, an imaging device, and a sheath. The optical system can comprise distal optical elements and relay optics which can provide the formation of an image on the imaging device. The relay optical system a zoom mode for magnifying the object being viewed. In an embodiment, the optics, illumination device, the relay device and the sheath can be disposable after a single procedure which reduces the sterilization requirements and improves safety.

    • A system for imaging the human airway during the intubation procedure incorporates a malleable stylet which retains its shape when bent, in order to facilitate intubation of a patient. In a preferred embodiment, a solid metal stylet, for example, a conventional endotracheal stylet, can be utilized. The intubation scope allows for a user to utilize conventional techniques for the insertion of an endotracheal tube, reducing the training needed for use of the subject intubation scope. The imaging scopes also incorporate at least one illumination fiber to convey light to the distal tip of the subject imaging scopes, for illumination of the objects to be imaged.
