    • Push-button applicator device for dispensing liquids intended to be mounted on a dosing pump or aerosol valve on the mouth of liquid containers, and to provide for the dispensing of liquids in a uniform and controlled way on a surface through the use of a spongy material part, and wherein the inadvertent operation of the dosing pump is impeded during storage. The device is comprised of a first fixed part (7) which is mounted, together with a dosing pump (8) on the neck of the liquid container (10). The free end of the fixed part surrounds the whole periphery of the discharge tube (17) emerging from the pump. A second movable part (4) is adapted both to the discharge tube of the pump and to the upper end of the fixed part (7). Said movable part is moved towards the container in order to actuate the dosing pump of the container from which liquid is discharged vertically towards a sponge (2) which is covered by a closure cap (1) not in contact with the sponge and adjusted to the fixed part (7).

    • The foam nozzle assembly is mounted to a trigger sprayer and comprises an outer barrel portion defining a foam generating chamber into which liquid is ejected in a conical spray from an orifice in a back wall of the foam generating chamber. The cone of spray subtends a predetermined angle. The nozzle assembly includes a perforated wall (168) which is located in the outer barrel portion and which is spaced forwardly of the orifice from which the conical spray is ejected. The perforated (168) wall has ribs (201, 203) and slots therein and the back edges of the portions of the ribs (201, 203) between slots is rounded to provide a surface upon which the conical spray can impinge and be deflected in different directions to mix with air in the foam generating chamber to create foam. The rounded back edge of each of the ribs (201, 203) is defined by a generally circular round having a given radius R. Preferably, the width of each slot is defined as S, and the radius R is in a ratio to the slot width S, R:S, of between approximately 1:2 and 1:4.

    • The nozzle assembly comprises a cap (26) and a bushing (28) for mounting to the front of the body (12) of a trigger sprayer (10) in communication with a passage in the trigger sprayer (10). The cap (26) is mounted to said bushing (28) and is rotatable on the bushing (28) between three positions, they being a stop position, a spray position and a foam position. The nozzle has first passage means and the cap (26) has second passage means. The respective first and second passage means are arranged to communicate with each other in the rotated spray position and in the rotated foam position of the cap. The cap (26) is provided with foam generating means (69) within the cap and in communication with the respective passage means when the cap (26) is rotated to a foam position for generating foam on actuation of a trigger (16) of the trigger sprayer (10) to which the nozzle assembly is mounted.
