    • Method and arrangement in a serving base station for determining a binary value of information data received from a user equipment, by using a supportive likelihood value received from a supporting base station. The user equipment transmits information data to be received both by the serving base station and the supporting base station. The method comprises: decoding information data bits received from the user equipment into a first likelihood value, without determining a binary value for each bit of the information data, a supportive likelihood value of the information data bits transmitted from the user equipment is received from the supporting base station, which supportive likelihood value is based on a decoding of the information data bits performed in the supporting base station. The first likelihood value of the decoded information bits is combined with the received supportive likelihood value of the decoded information bits. Thus a binary value for each bit of the information data transmitted from the user equipment is determined, based on the combined first and supportive likelihood values.

    • A method in a first base station for supporting DTX is provided. The first base station serves a first cell being in an active mode. The first base station communicates with a user equipment within the first cell. The first base station is comprised in a radio communications system further comprising the user equipment and a second base station serving a second cell being in a non observable mode. The first base station sends (602) to the second base station, a request to switch the second cell state from a non observable mode to an observable mode. It further sends (603) to the user equipment or to the second base station, a request to perform signalling between the user equipment and the second base station for quality measurements. The first base station then obtains (604) information that handover is feasible, based on quality measurement of the performed signalling. The first base station sends (605) to the second base station, a request to prepare handover of the user equipment from the first cell to the second cell, and further (606) to the user equipment, a command to perform handover to the second cell.

    • The basic idea of the present invention is to not only design a frequency-selective precoder with respect to the channel properties but also to ensure that the time- domain spread is limited. Hence the energy of the time-domain impulse response of the frequency-selective precoder is concentrated. According to a first embodiment, the time-domain spread is limited by designing a precoder such that it allows smooth transitions in the frequency domain between the values of the precoder when the precoder provides a staircase function. The smooth transitions can either be achieved by lowpass filtering the frequency-domain representation, the staircase function, of the precoder or by designing the precoder such that the sharp jumps are replaced by slopes. According to a second embodiment, the time-domain spread is controlled. The control may be achieved by employing a time-domain parameterization to precisely control the introduced additional time-domain spread.

    • The present invention relates to a method for uplink transmission in a cellular telecommunication network supporting both DFT-spread OFDM and regular OFDM as access schemes in the uplink.
