    • The invention relates to a device (2) which is used to establish an electroconductive contact for an electrically conductive part of an elongated, essentially cylindrical body, for example a pipe or a cable (38). Said inventive device comprises a base body (4) which is placed on the electrically conductive part of the contactable body and a contact element held in a mounting position on a side of the base body (4) orientated towards the contactable body in order to produce an electrically conductive connection to the electroconductive part of the contactable body. The invention is characterised in that the contact element (22) consists of profiled sheet steel and has projecting parts (58, 60), preferably in the form of a tongue, which are used to enable the contact element (22) to lie on the contactable body when mounted. Said contact element (22) is simple and economical to produce and can be easily connected to the base body (4) of the device (2).

    • A splicing device (10) for facilitating splice connections of electric wires (15, 16), includes a housing of non-conductive material and a terminal assembly (40) attached to an inner surface of the housing. The housing includes a base (20), and a cover (30) placeable in covering relation over the base. The cover is removably attachable to the base. The base and the cover define a protected space therebetween, and also define an inlet and an outlet therebetween for respectively receiving wires in opposite ends thereof for connection of the wires within the protected space. The base may include one or more mounting blocks (22, 23), for supporting metallic conductors thereon. The blocks, where used, are generally non-conductive. The terminal assembly includes at least two metallic conductors (42, 44) attached to the base, which may be provided as generally flattened metal bars. The terminal assembly includes adjustably tightenable clamps (45) for clamping wires against the conductors. The clamps are connected to the housing base and the clamps are adjustably attached to the conductors. Optionally, the splicing device according to the invention may include a first sealing member adjacent the inlet, and a second sealing member adjacent the outlet, to resist water entry into housing.
