摘要： Provided herein are liquid polymer (LP) compositions comprising an acrylamide (co)polymer, as well as methods for preparing inverted polymer solutions by inverting these LP compositions in an aqueous fluid. The resulting inverted polymer solutions can have a concentration of acrylamide (co)polymer of from about 50 to about 15,000 ppm, and a filter ratio of 1.5 or less at 15 psi using a 1.2μm filter. Also provided are methods of using these inverted polymer solutions in dewatering, clarification, flocculation and/or thickening applications, and the like.

The co-addition of the flocculant with an anionic, cationic or non-ionic surfactant produces improved separation of contaminants from wastewater to yield pure or highly pure water. An optimal ratio between the flocculant and the surfactant applied allows for reduction of the amount of flocculant required to treat the wastewater.

摘要： A method and treatment unit for removing particulate mercury from aqueous streams such as wastewater streams from hydrocarbon processing is disclosed. Mercury solids are removed by means of a surface filter configured in the shape of a bag. The separated solid mercury can be thickened and dewatered by removing the spent filter bag from service and allowing the water to drain and/or evaporate. The dewatered solids can then be disposed of together with the spent bag to an approved solid waste disposal facility. Coagulants, fiocculants, and mercury precipitants can be injected upstream of the filter bag if required to increase removal efficiency by precipitating dissolved ionic mercury and increasing the particle size of the mercury solids. Following bag filtration, activated carbon or an alternative technology ( e.g ., mercury specific ion exchange resin or adsorbent) can be applied to remove any trace concentrations of dissolved elemental and organic forms of mercury if required based on local discharge requirements.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for reducing membrane fouling in a membrane bioreactor. The method comprises steps of obtaining an aqueous medium comprising contaminating substances, optionally performing a pre-sedimentation step for the aqueous medium, leading at least part of the aqueous medium, optionally from the pre-sedimentation step, as an incoming stream into a bioreactor tank, where the aqueous medium is brought into a contact with microorganisms, which reduce the amount of contaminating substances in the aqueous medium, and obtaining a treated outflow by using a separation membrane, such as microfiltration or ultrafiltration membrane. To the incoming stream and/or to the bioreactor tank is added ≥ 5 ppm of an inorganic coagulant, which is an aluminium and/or iron compound, and an anionic or non-ionic polymer. The addition of the coagulant and the polymer occurs before the separation membrane, and after the optional pre-sedimentation step.
