摘要： Compositions of and processes for preparing a polyamine-polyamidoamine- epihalohydrin resin generally include reacting a first polyamine, a polyamidoamine, and an epihalohydrin to form the polyamine-polyamidoamine-epihalohydrin (PPAE) resin, wherein the polyamidoamine is prepared by reacting a polycarboxylic acid or a polycarboxylic acid derivative with a second polyamine to form the polyamidoamine, wherein a molar ratio of the polyamine to the polycarboxylic acid is 1.05 to 2.0. The PPAE resin can be used in an adhesive formulation for use in creping applications for forming paper products such as tissue products.

摘要： A method of producing paper which includes adding to a paper making stock or furnish a microparticle system as a retention and/or drainage aid which comprises a polymer selected from the group consisting of polyampholyte polymer, a coagulant polymer and a high molecular weight water soluble polymer, and an inorganic sol selected from the group consisting of zirconia sol, and alumina sol. Optionally, a cationic starch may be part of the microparticle system and added prior to the addition of the polymer. The method may involve the addition of the inorganic sol after the last shearing stage.

摘要： The present invention relates to aqueous compositions comprising component (A) which comprises at least one water-soluble component comprising at least one functional group that undergoes a crosslinking reaction, preferably upon drying and/or heating; and component (B) which comprises at least one film-forming material. In particular the composition is a coating composition comprising: (A) at least one polyamidoamine-epihalohydrin resin; and (B) at least one material selected from flexibilizing materials, crosslink inhibiters and combinations thereof in an amount sufficient to impart a cuttability value of less than about 15 to a substrate coated with the coating composition. Component (B) is preferably at least one polymer comprising repeating units derived from an alkyl halide having at least one double bond and an alkene, such as ethylene vinyl chloride. Coated substrates such as coated building units, such as ceiling tiles and wall boards, as well as methods of producing such coated substrates are also provided.
