摘要： A seam area, and a method of making a seam for an industrial fabric, provide for first and second fold lines oriented in the CD of the fabric. Each fold line comprises a set of land areas configured to define a set of holes, and the land areas of each set are constructed and arranged such that when the fabric is folded along the fold lines and the fold lines are aligned with each other, each folded land area of each set is offset from the folded land areas of the other set, and aligned with and receivable by an opposing hole of the other set to form a channel to receive a fastening means. The seams provide the benefits of simple, accurate and economical construction, strength, consistency with adjacent fabric surfaces, and thus reduced marking of sheets carried by the fabrics.

In one embodiment, a composite stringer and skin structure includes a polymer-based elongated stringer portion having reinforcing fibers positioned in a plurality of adjacent plies, a first portion of the reinforcing fibers being oriented at a relatively shallow angle relative to a selected reference direction, and a second portion of the reinforcing fibers being oriented at a relatively broad angle relative to the selected reference direction. A polymer-based and fiber reinforced skin member adjoins the stringer portion, and an adhesive material is interposed between the stringer portion and the skin member.

摘要： A cellular reservoir flexible pressure vessel is formed as a series of closely packed tubes fitted into a pair of opposing end caps. The end caps have individual receptacles sized and shaped to receive the tube ends that are secured with adhesive or radio frequency welding. At least one end cap has a passageway for connection of the vessel. The flexible pressure vessel has a pressure relief device comprising a reduction in thickness of one end cap at a predetermined location. When subjected to overpressure it fails at the predetermined location. Other pressure relief devices include: a projecting member on the vessel surface, a weakened section of the passageway, a weakening or an absence of braiding material or hoop winding at a predetermined location on the vessel surface or along the passageway, a weakening or spreading of fibers in either the reinforcing panels or the flexible blankets covering the vessel.

摘要： The present invention relates to the joining of lined pipes, particularly lined pipes for high pressure applications. A metal pipeline section that has a metal flange (13) at one end is lined with a plastic liner (15) such that some of the liner extends beyond the flange end (13) of the pipeline section. An annular plastic member (16) is electrofusion joined onto the outside of the portion of plastic liner (15) which extends beyond the flange end (13) of the pipeline section and any liner extending beyond the annular plastic member is trimmed off to make the liner flush with the annular plastic member (16). The annular plastic member (16) is then positioned adjacent the annular plastic member of another similarly prepared pipeline section and a containment ring (17) is secured around them to restrain any outward movement of the annular plastic members when the pipeline is in use. The metal flanges (13) are secured to each other such that the annular plastic members (16) are compressed between them to prevent leakage.
