摘要： Disclosed are compositions that comprise one or more N-acylethanolamine compounds for maintaining the freshness and appearance of cut flowers, floral products, decorative foliage, fruits, and other plant cuttings. More specifically, the present invention provides methods for treating and storing cut flowers, Christmas trees, fruits, and other severed plant parts that preserve the appearance, freshness, fragrance and/or aesthetic qualities of the botanical products. Using the disclosed compositions, the shelf life of cut flowers was substantially prolonged, in many cases 2 to 5 times longer than untreated flowers, with the treated flowers or foliage appearing healthy and viable, and without wilting, dehydration, leaf drop, or visible signs of senescence. Likewise, treatment of ornamental coniferous plants with the anti-senescent compositions delayed deterioration and leaf drop, while extending the overall appearance and quality of the plants and plant cuttings.

摘要： To preserve flowers (6) and provide aromatherapy, low temperature paraffin (1) is heated (2) to a liquid state of approximately 130 degrees Fahrenheit. A floral nutrient and preservative (3) such as a saccharide such as sugar is then added to the low temperature paraffin (1). Optionally, scents (4) and/or color dyes (5) are also added. The heads of flowers (6) to be preserved are then dipped (7) in this paraffin mixture for one to three seconds and thereafter allowed to dry. The flower (6) can then be used immediately, or optionally hung (8) upside down for one to three weeks prior to use to further improved shelf life. The flower (6) can further be sprayed with a floral spray paint (9).

摘要： A group of wide range germicidal action disinfecting preparations for hospital and laboratory surfaces and medical equipment, each preparation comprising one or more bleaching agent in combination with at least one compound of fungicidal activity. The same preparations may be diluted for household use and they may be prepared as liquid solutions, aerosols, humidifiers in cleansing tissues, ointments with a suitable emulsifier or in dry powder formulation, on their own or in admixture with other disinfectants or as an addition to soaps or detergents. The bleaching agents to be employed in accordance with the invention have a general formula M - (O - X - Y)n where M is a Hydrogen atom or any Alkali or Alkaline earth group or transition metal or any Aliphatic or branched chain Carbon skeleton or any Alkyl, Alkenyl, Alkynyl, Acyl, Aracyl, Aryl, or Aralkyl or Carboxy group or any Alcohol, Aldehyde or Ozonide, optionally substituted with one or more heteroatoms such as Sulphur or Nitrogen or a Halogen; O is an Oxygen atom, X is chosen from an Oxygen atom or any Halogen atom or NO2 or any radical of similar chemical activity; and Y equals zero or Y is chosen from any of the elements or groups enumerated for M. Exemple 1: a solution of 7 % NaClO, 4 % 2,3,4,6-tetrachlorophenol and 2 % detergent in 87 % water, preferable use dilution 1:100, for hospital use as a highly effective wide range bleach and disinfectant. Example 2: a solution of 7 % NaClO, 4 % 2,3,4,6-tetrachlorophenol and 2 % detergent in 87 % water, preferable use dilution 1:300, for use in the household as an effective but gentle wide range bleach and disinfectant.

摘要： An atmosphere modifying device including a substrate which has formed thereon a layer of chemical compound, said device being adapted to be placed in, on or near an object so that said chemical compound can make contact with said atmosphere around said object to thereby modify said atmosphere. The substrate may be a laminated label made from a polymer material onto which the chemical compound is printed or laminated. The chemical compound may be potassium permanganate or silver permanganate, and is adapted to control the atmospheric concentration of oxygen, water vapour, ethylene gas, or a combination of these substances. When the device is utilised in respect of being applied to fruit and vegetables and inside the containers or in plant boxes or punnets, the gases which deteriorate fruit and vegetables in a more rapid fashion than is normal, are in part or in whole, removed from the atmosphere. When the device is used in relation to the atmosphere on the surface of water in, for example, a vase, a bowl, a pond, an irrigation channel or a slow moving creek, the extraction of dangerous and harmful gases benefits the plants in the region and thus the other life around it. When the device also has nutrients involved, the plants surrounding the device will further benefit.
