摘要： A communication device receives a signal during a backoff period of a backoff procedure, wherein the communication device is part of a first communication network. In response to determining that i) the signal is valid, ii) the signal is from another communication network, and iii) the power level of the signal does not meet a threshold that is higher than a default threshold, the communication device continues a count of a backoff timer during reception of the signal. In connection with comparing the power level of the signal to the threshold higher than the default threshold, the communication device sets a transmit power level to a reduced power level that is lower than a default power level. The communication device transmits at a transmit power level that is less than or equal to the reduced transmit power level in response to the backoff timer expiring.

An availability of one or more subchannels of an orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) channel are determined by a first communication device for the UL MU transmission. A High Throughput (HT) Control field of a media access control (MAC) header that includes an indication of the determined availability of the one or more subchannels is generated by the first communication device. A MAC protocol data unit (MPDU) that includes the HT Control field is generated by the first communication device. The MPDU is transmitted by the first communication device to a second communication device via the OFDM channel for a subsequent allocation of radio resources for the UL MU transmission by the second communication device.

Respective downlink OFDM data units are generated using the corresponding allocated sub-channels. The downlink OFDM data units are transmitted using the corresponding allocated sub-channels. At least first and second uplink OFDM data units transmitted by the respective second communication device in response to the corresponding downlink OFDM data unit are received.
