摘要： An electrical socket with a shutter mechanism for an electrical connector An electrical socket includes a shutter mechanism to prevent misuse of the socket. It prevents insertion of objects to connect to the electrical terminals other than the appropriately configured plug. The shutter is formed from two main components. The first requires insertion of an earth pin in order that it is moved into a position relative in relation to the second in which relative sliding motion is permitted. The second member may then be moved to expose the other terminals by insertion of the other pins. If pins are inserted into the neutral and live terminals whilst the first member is in the initial position the second member rocks or pivots into a position in which arms of the first member prevent relative sliding movement. Thus, the terminals remain covered by the second member preventing connection.
