    • A rear view mirror control circuit arrangement is disclosed for a vehicle. The vehicle may have at least two rear view mirror assemblies each having housing and respective motors located external of the vehicle. The motors are adapted and mechanically coupled to mirror elements so as to control the position of the mirror elements with respect to said vehicle for the viewing convenience of the vehicle driver. The control circuit arrangement consists of a common electronic control circuit located internal of said vehicle for controlling each motor and predetermined other functions of the rear view mirror assembly. This has the advantage that only one common control circuit is used to control multiple mirrors that being located internal of the vehicle, protects it from extreme environmental and physical conditions Furthermore it is cheaper to design and supply as an OEM product to vehicle manufacturers.

    • An image processing system is displayed which a first video camera (101) produces a first video signal from a first image view. A second video camera (103) generates a second video signal derived from a second image view. The first video signal is combined with a second video signal to produce a combined video signal in which the first image is displaced from the second image in a vertical direction. A micro-display (105) generates a combined image from the combined video signal. Image manipulating optics (109) receive light from the display device and arrange for the combined image to be displayed with a first image alongside the second image in a horizontal direction.

    • The invention is based upon the magnet field sensitivity of magnetic field sensors such as hall sensors or magnetoresistive sensors for instance. A mirror or a mirror housing (3) is pivotally mounted on a mirror holder (1) around at least two axes. A sensor array (5) having at least four sensors or at least four sensor plates detects the position of the mirror in relation to a region (7) that is magnetised in a linear manner. The linear arrangement of the north and south poles is detected by a sensor array, said arrangement pertaining to said region. In a preferred embodiment, at least two sensor plates are used per rotational axis for determining the angle of rotation around the respective rotational axes. A sensor array having four sensor plates is thus preferably used for two rotational axes. A sensor array having six sensor plates is preferably used for three rotational axes. The sensor array can be miniaturised together with the corresponding electronic evaluation system and is produced as a planar array. The sensor array can be produced in a monolithical manner together with the electronic evaluation system when hall sensors are used.
