摘要： The present invention is directed to methods of manufacturing Anti-ballistic Shelters such as tents and other frame structures, doors, room dividers, furniture, cots, pads and umbrellas using soft armor fabric or hard armor materials. Soft armor consists of flexible high-strength layered anti-ballistic material attached to a frame and layered in at least two directions. Soft armor requires an area of flexibility/expansion to work effectively when struck by a projectile along with a very secure attachment. Attachment means for attaching the anti-ballistic material to the frame members include: (1) a wrapping and clamping method; (2) an inverted "T" construction and stitching method, using an optional calculated stretch material, breakaway stitch and holding stitch; and (3) an envelope method, also using a breakaway stitch and a holding stitch. This and further reinforcement as necessary allows the flexibility/expansion required for maximum anti-ballistic protection within the shelter.

The building panel supports the slab and also provides a ventilation layer that may be depressurized to eliminate or reduce infiltration of radon gas into the building. The ventilation layer may comprise channels which provide a two-dimensionally interconnected void. Ventilation panels which include collars for connecting to ventilation systems may be provided. The panels may be installed directly on compacted soil. The building panels may additionally provide sub-slab insulation and/or a capillary break for water drainage. In some embodiments the building panels are formed substantially entirely of thermal insulating material such as rigid polystyrene foam. In an example embodiment the panels are approximately 4 inches thick and have a grid of intersecting channels formed on an underside of the panels.

摘要： In one embodiment, the present invention can include a foldable structure employing material-filled panels which can be used as an emergency shelter in disaster areas. A building can formed from one or more building blocks. The building blocks can be in a compact position, such as when being transported to a disaster area, or in an expanded position, such as when the building is ready to be built in the disaster area. In the expanded position, the building blocks can be filled with various materials such as expanding foam material. The expanding foam material can be formed from two mixing materials. In addition, the expanding foam material can have insulating properties. The building of the present invention can also be used, for example, as sheds, tree houses, and/or permanent housing. The building blocks can have marine applications and/or military application due to their light weight, yet, ballistic nature.
