    • A system (100, 200) and methods thereof provide an on-demand practical, economical and safe thermo-chemical process for the production and storage (170) of clean hydrogen gas and deuterium. There is made use of a mixture of chemicals, metals and catalysts in a reactor (140) that produce a chemical reaction. Specifically hydrogen production consists of causing a reaction of a metal, for example, Aluminum (Al) or different alloys thereof, with sea, saline or regular water (110), in the presence of one of a particular list of acids and alkali, for example Na OH or AlC 13 (120, 220) used as an enhancer. Depending on the enhancer used, the system (100) may provide usable byproducts (180) and/or recycle (180) the enhancer.

    • Phosphorus containing material is treated with mineral acid to form a leach-solution (7) comprising of trivalent aluminum, phosphorus and optionally trivalent iron. Aluminum and possibly iron is extracted by adsorbing in a scavenger (22) having an affinity for cations and by releasing aluminum and iron into a strip-solution during regeneration. The regeneration is performed with hydrochloric acid (31). Anionic metal chloride complexes are extracted from the hydrochloric acid strip-solution (32) by adsorbing in a scavenger (42) having affinity for anionic metal chlorides. Metal chlorides are recovered from the loaded scavenger (46) by elution with water (49). Gaseous hydrogen chloride (38) is added to the raffinate (33) from the metal chloride extraction. Crystalline aluminum chloride hexahydrate (37) is separated. The hydrochloric acid strip-solution (31) is recycled and used for stripping a scavenger (26) loaded with aluminum and/or iron. The depleted ash leach-solution (9) is treated for phosphorus recovery and preferably reused for dissolution of a phosphorus containing material.

    • The process begins when reacting hydrochloric acid in aqueous solution with activated metallic aluminium in restrict and controlled production conditions, obtaining aluminium chloride in solution. The hydrochloric acid solution is prepared from the dilution of concentrated hydrochloric acid into drinking water maintained under agitation unitl the concentration of 12.00 to 28.09% of hydrochloric acid in weight at a specific density of 1.0574 to 1.1426. The activated metallic aluminium can be prepared from primary aluminium or recycled aluminium; and the raw materials above are prepared to promote their reaction in a proportion of 1.9 to 2.1 Al for 1.0 to 1.5 Cl so the diluted hydrochloric acid solution is added in defined portions or continuous flow until it finishes, at an environment or controlled pressure. Where such reaction is exohtermic and it is extended for several hours, so, after the reaction, it is filtered with a filtering environment where the final adjust is done with drinking water according to the desired concentration.
