    • The invention relates to power packs, which comprises a plurality of fuel cells and a reactant supply element. In one embodiment, the power pack comprises a reactant supply element for a reactant comprising one of a fuel or an oxidant; and a plurality of cylindrical fuel cells. The reactant supply element is aligned with the plurality to be capable to deliver the reactant to more than one fuel cell of the plurality. In a second embodiment, the power pack comprises a reactant supply element for a reactant comprising a fuel and a plurality of fuel cells attached to the reactant supply element. At least two of the plurality are removably attached to the reactant supply element, and the power pack comprises a passive oxidant supply.

    • The invention relates to a fuel cell assembly with a number of fuel cells arranged in a stack (1), each fuel cell containing an anode (2), an electrolyte matrix (3) and a cathode (4). Each fuel cell also has an anode input (11), an anode output (12), a cathode input (13) and a cathode output (14) by which means fuel gas and cathode gas can enter or leave. According to the invention, the fuel gas is conveyed to the anode input (11) of the fuel cells via an internal gas distribution device (51) which distributes the gas current inside the fuel cells. The cathode gas, on the other hand, is led to or away from the cathode input (13) and/or cathode output (14) by means of the external gas distribution devices (43, 44) which distribute the gas current to the fuel cells outside. According to various embodiments of the invention, the currents of fuel gas and cathode gas run through the fuel cells in a cross current, a counter-current or direct current. Additional measures are taken for the integrated catalytic oxidation of fuel gas residues.
