摘要： Der Datenträger basiert auf dem CD oder DVD Standard, hat aber die Form einer Visitenkarte und zudem die Funktionalität einer Transponder Card. Der Datenträger kann unter anderem in Lesegeräten mit Schublade ausgelesen werden, was durch die Zentrierkante (5) ermöglicht wird. Innerhalb der Zentrierkante (5) ist der Datenträger ca. 1.3 mm, ausserhalb nur ca. 0.4 mm dick. Der Datenträger weist zwei Schichten (1, 2) auf, wobei die erste Schicht (1) Datenbereiche gemäss dem CD oder DVD Standard aufweist und die zweite Schicht (2) als Transponder Card mit einer integrierten Schaltung (10) und einer Antenne ausgestaltet ist. Die beiden Schichten (1, 2) werden separat gefertigt und erst später zusammengeklebt. Die Herstellung ist dadurch kostengünstig. Die zweite Schicht (2) ist aus PVC. Der Datenträger ist dadurch bruchfester als bekannte Datenträger dieser Art.

摘要： An optical data carrier (1) comprising an information recording layer whereby storage areas for digital information are arranged on the surface thereof. The data carrier is provided with a through opening for a receiving element of a read and/or write device. In order to make it easier to carry a plurality of said data carriers in a wallet, for example, the thickness (4) of the data carrier (1) is thinner than that of a standard DVD type carrier and greater than the sum of the thicknesses of the information recording layer of a standard DVD-type data carrier and a minimally required carrier layer. The invention also provides for an adapter for receiving the above-mentioned data carrier. The invention further relates to a data carrier which combines the following internationally widespread formats in a fully compatible manner: DVD-Roms or DVD videos, credit cards, chip cards, magnetic strip cheque cards and smart cards (e.g. phone cards). Information can be captured on the inventive data carrier by means of standard DVD drives, magnetic strips or chip readers.
