    • The invention provides selective sticking agents which stick selectively to halogenated aromatic compounds contained in organic media in slight amounts to attain the removal or concentration of the halogenated aromatic compounds from the organic media and thus facilitate the decomposition of the halogenated aromatic compounds. The selective sticking agents each contain a composition which comprises a specific modified cyclodextrin and a compound capable of producing a suctional interaction with a halogenated aromatic compound which is selected from the group consisting of a cyclic compound selected from the group consisting of cyclic oligosaccharides other than the modified cyclodexitrin, supramolecular assemblies of cyclodextrins, crown compounds, cyclophanes, azacyclophanes, thiocyclophanes, cryptands, cyclotriveratrylene, cavitands, calixarenes, cyclotriveratrylene, spherands, cavitands and cyclic oligopeptides, an acyclic compound selected from the group consisting of dimers of the above cyclic compounds, acyclic oligosaccharides, and acyclic oligopeptides, and mixtures of two or more of the cyclic or acyclic compounds.
