摘要： This invention relates to novel process of preparing chemically bonded composite hydroxide ceramics by exposing a thermally treated hydroxide ceramic to phosphate reagent and subsequent heat treating the resulting system to initiate a rapid chemical bonding reaction. Such combined hydroxide/chemical bonding process can be used to fabricate ceramics or ceramic coatings for a variety of high and low temperature applications, including corrosion protection, wear resistance, dielectric properties, metal reinforced ceramics, ceramic membranes, non-sticky surfaces, bio-active ceramics, thermal barrier ceramics, non-wetted surfaces, and others.

摘要： A method of producing ceramic crowns by depositing a dental ceramic material on the surface of a ceramic core and baking the same, characterized by comprising the steps of preparing an assembly of a crucible former having a column in the form of a bottomed cylindrical body provided with a fitting recess in the central region of the upper surface of the central portion thereof, a wax pattern attached to the fitting recess and having a solid lubricant applied to the surface thereof, a ring with a back layer member engaging the bottomed cylindrical body, and a buried member, removing the crucible former from the assembly, burning the wax pattern to form a mold, filling a ceramic material in the mold, and pressing the same by a plunger, thereby molding the ceramic core. According to this method, full ceramic crowns of high quality can be efficiently produced in a short time.

摘要： A composition for restoring defects in calcified tissues comprises an amorphous bioactive particulate consisting essentially of calcium, silicon and oxygen. Said agent may be selected from the group consisting of : a) a reaction product of an organic silicate source and a source of calcium; b) a calcium containing hydrolysis product of tetraethylorthosilicate; c) a calcium containing silica sol-gel; d) a binary calcium oxide and silicate precipitated material; e) a synthetic analog of a naturally occurring wollastonite-like calcium silicate; and f) a precipitated reaction product of soluble calcium source and a silicate solution. A process for producing the amorphous bioactive particulate consists essentially of adding a sufficient amount of a solution of a soluble calcium source to a solution of a silicate or silicate precursor to cause a precipitation of calcium-containing silicate particulate.

摘要： A method for producing a machinable feldspathic porcelain comprising leucite is presented. Machinability is imparted to feldspathic porcelains by achieving homogeneous distribution of fine crystalline constituent comprised of at least one of the following leucite phases: potassium tetragonal leucite, rubidium leucite, cesium stabilized cubic leucite, rubidium stabilized cubic leucite, and pollucite. The porcelains produced in accordance with the present invention are readily machinable by using available diamond tooling techniques. Furthermore, the porcelains are especially useful for the fabrication of dental restorations using CAD/CAM technology.
