摘要： A chair for institutional use such as in hospital waiting areas, dormitories, military homes and the like. The chair includes two arms (20), a front member (22) disposed between the arms, a seat back (14), a seat deck (24) and a seat cushion (26). The arms are secured to the front member by screws (32) that threadingly engage apertures therein. The seat back includes protrusions (60) that are captured by a bracket (54) disposed on each chair arm. Screws extend through apertures in both sides of the seat back and into threaded apertures in both arms, thereby fixing the seat back to the arms. The seat deck rests on a ledge (64) in the seat back, secures to a flange (40) on the front member by a screw and supports the seat cushion. The chair is upholstered with fabric having hook and loop strips (90) around the perimeter that corresponds to hook and loop strips on each chair piece.

摘要： An apparatus and method for forming a metal frame for an article of furniture which includes a base portion (54) made up of four peripheral edge members disposed in a rectangular arrangement. The frame also includes a back frame portion (56) and two arm frame portions (58) each having at least three peripheral edge members which are interconnected to each other at right angles. Each of the base frame portion (54), the back frame portion (56) and the two arm frame portions (58) includes at least one strip of longitudinally corrugated metallic sheet material which has at least one generally U-shaped longitudinally extending rib therein. Bend locations are provided for bending the strip of longitudinally corrugated metallic sheet material at right angles. A combination of corresponding strips of velcro, hooks and loops are used in conjunction with J-strips to removably attach upholstery to the frame.

摘要： An upholstered furniture system having removable and intechangeable spring and sleeper units (32, 34) for mounting on a substantially horizontal surface. The system comprises first and second (22) spaced apart substantially vertical arm members, a back member (26) which is removably attached to the arm members and a front member (20) which is in removable contact with the arm members. A seat support member, which may be one of a spring platform (32) and a sleeper mechanism (34), is removably supported by first and second side support sections (56) affixed to the inner surfaces of the first and second arm members (22). A cover (94) may be secured to the arm, back and front members by hook and loop fastening strips (96).
