With embodiments of the present disclosure, it enables a greater number of layers to be used, especially for new-type UE with legacy UE co-paring and thus a high order MIMO is possible; and in some embodiments, it is even possible to reduce signaling overhead for a DMRS indication substantially.

The terminal device then transmits the aperiodic SRS to the network device based on the precoding information.
