摘要： This invention relates to a laminate electrical insulation part for an electrical device comprising a thermoplastic film positioned between, adjacent to, and attached to two nonwoven sheets. Each of the nonwoven sheets consists of multicomponent polymeric fibers comprising at least a first polymer and a second polymer, the first polymer having a melting point that is at least 15 degrees Celsius lower than both the melting point of the second polymer and the melting point of the thermoplastic film, and the film is attached to the nonwoven sheets by the first polymer in the nonwoven sheets. The electrical insulation part has a breakdown voltage of at least 3 kilovolts, and a surface having a dynamic frictional coefficient of 0.25 or less. This invention also relates to an electrical device component comprising the laminate electrical insulation part.

摘要： Disclosed is the use of the barrier property effect of nanomaterials to improve the electrical insulation resistance and corrosion protection strength properties of electromagnetic devices. The beneficial effects are realized with nanomaterial loadings of 1 -20%, and preferably between 1 - 5%, parts by weight of coating resins. Nanomaterials include, but are not limited to, silica, alumina, zirconia, and antimony pentoxide, which are dispersed either directly into a coating, or pre-dispersed in a carrier appropriate to the solvent of the resin system. Resulting formulations benefit from the fact that anti -settling agents need not be incorporated into the resin to keep the inorganic material suspended. Also, the rheology of the resin system is not significantly altered which would otherwise affect processing of the resins for their intended applications.

摘要： An electric motor having an armature which includes a coating of thermally conductive plastic applied in a conventional injection molding process. The armature also includes a fan which is integrally formed from the thermally conductive plastic applied to the armature. This completely eliminates the need to apply one or more coatings of a trickle resin to the armature. It also eliminates the need to separately form and secure a fan by a suitable adhesive to the armature, which together significantly simplifies the manufacturing and cost of the armature. The plastic coating also better fills the spaces between the magnet wires, thus promoting even more efficient cooling and better holding of the magnet wires stationary relative to one another. The thermally conductive plastic coating may be mixed with other suitable materials to provide a density approximately equal to the magnet wires. This eliminates the need to balance the armature after the injection molding step.
