    • An installation jig (10) includes a pair of jaws (12, 14) and a latch guide (16) coupled together by an adjusting mechanism. The jig (10) includes a pair of backset spacers (22) mounted to the latch guide (16) for rotational movement between a first backset position and a second backset position. A detent mechanism maintains each backset spacer (22) in a selected backset position and, when combined with the rotational movement, provides a tool-free backset operation. The jig (10) also includes a pair of removable in-line arms (20, 20a) to provide the capability to perform a standard door prep on metal and wood doors. In addition, a novel drill bit adapter (156) is disclosed.
