摘要： An apparatus for removing a surface layer (16) from a floor. The apparatus includes a body frame (2) mountable by a machine operator. A blade tool assembly (64) having a scraping blade (36) is secured to the front of the frame and can be used for removing floor covering (16). The blade tool may be replaced by a detachable transport wheel (78) for moving the machine when not in use for removing floor covering (16). A pair of independent suspensions (4) is attached to the rear end of the frame, and independent drive motors (6) and wheels for moving the frame and blade tool with respect to the floor surface attach to each suspension (4). The independent suspensions (4) include a pivot shaft (92) attached to the frame (2) with a suspension bar (104) that supports the drive motor (6) attached to each pivot shaft (92). Shock absorbers (106) are attached to the suspension bar (104) and to the rear end of the frame so as to adjust the apparatus when it encounters debris.

The product includes a liquid cleaning composition which contains water, an organic solvent and a surfactant, an absorbent stain receiver, and a hand-held tool for imparting mechanical agitation onto stains on carpets. The hand-held tool is, for example, a triangular implement, with three edges and three rounded corners. Two of these edges and two of these rounded corners are serrated while the remaining edge and rounded corner is smooth.
