    • A method in a first base station (111) for assisting a third base station (121) in scheduling a user equipment. The first base station (111) obtains a first parameter associated to a first cell, or an indication of the first parameter, and an identifier of the first cell.     • Methods for enabling and disabling of muting patterns in Radio Access Network, RAN, nodes allow better detection and use of reference symbols used for synchronization. In some embodiments, coordination of muting patterns amongst different nodes is enabled, so that muting of multiple nodes results in increased protection from interference for the node in need of detecting the synchronization reference symbols. An example method is implemented in a base station operating in a wireless communications network, for facilitating over-the-air synchronization by a neighboring base station. This method includes receiving (1210) a request for activation of a reference signal muting pattern for a cell supported by the base station and activating (1220) the reference signal muting pattern in response to the request. The method further includes sending (1225) a message requesting activation of a reference signal muting pattern for a cell supported by a second base station, in response to the request.

    • Example embodiments presented herein are directed towards the elimination of physical layer identity ambiguities for uplink detection in a wireless network. Some of the example embodiments are directed towards a source network node (401A), and corresponding methods therein, for assigning an unique uplink physical layer identity for a user equipment uplink transmission of a first user equipment (101A) being served by the source network node (101B). The unique uplink physical layer identity is provided to ensure that at least one second user equipment (101B), which may be in proximity to a non-serving cell (105) associated with the uplink transmission, does not have a physical layer identity ambiguity with the first user equipment (101A). Some of the example embodiments are also directed towards a target network node (401B) and corresponding methods therein, for performing uplink detection of the first user equipment (101A) using the unique physical layer identity described above.
