    • An instrument (10) for precisely cutting tissue to controlled dimensions (length, width, depth, and shape) is provided for the removal of tissue from remote sites in the body of a patient. The instrument (10) has a housing (12) and a substantially flexible shaft (14) extending from the housing (12) to a distal end (16).
