Inner cones (18,22) are positioned within the internal cavity at each end of the outer shell. Each inner cone has a tapered body portion and a transversely extending shoulder portion (26,30) that abuts an outer edge (28,32) of the outer shell. The shoulder portions mechanically lock the inner cones to the outer shell.

When the valve seam (50) is in the open position, the bore is in un-filtered communication with the second passage (20) through a gap (54) formed at the valve seam (50).
