摘要： A needle plate base (11) in a multi-thread chain stitch sewing machine with a seam ravel preventing apparatus is divided into a left needle plate base ( 11L) for attaching a needle plate ( P) thereto and supporting a swinging support shaft (30) of a thread hanging hook (3); and a right needle plate base (11R) for fixedly supporting a stopper member (4) and a thread handling air cylinder (32) and a stopper air cylinder (42). The right needle plate base(llR) is fastened to a sewing machine bed (B). The left needle plate base (11L) is fastenably and unfastenably fastened to an upper surface of the bed(B) via screw members (102). Adj ustment of stitch performation, and maintenance, e.g., replacement of various kinds of components stored inside the bed, can extremely easily and simply be carried out without having much trouble and requiring labor and time, and therefore, the stitch performation and predetermined ravel preventing function can be constantly surely reproduced.

摘要： A multi-needle quilting machine (10) and method in which provided bridges (21,22) are provided having selectively operable stitching element pairs (90). Either the material or the bridges or both may be moved relative to the frame. Control schemes are provided to quilt continuous patterns, discrete patterns, linked multiple patterns, 360 degree patterns, closely spaced patterns. A plurality of small presser feet (158) are provided, each for one or more needles (132), with a wide spacing for material passage between the needle and looper plates. Combinations of intermittent and continuous feed and feed transition are employed during tack sequence sewing and other direction reversals in sewing, as well as double needle guards and thread deflection.

摘要： A thread wiper assembly mountable to the side of a sewing machine. The thread wiper assembly is particularly advantageous with sewing machines that are equipped with a walking foot. The thread wiper is mounted sidewardly relative to the needle and includes a picker arm, that while in a retracted position, is disposed sidewardly relative to the needle and out of its path of travel. Because the thread wiper is mounted to the side of the sewing machine and sidewardly relative to the needle, the picker arm is able to traverse along a path between the needle and the walking foot without interference. An actuating member: (i) lowers the picker arm in a direction substantially parallel to the needle until a free end of the picker arm is at a level between the needle and the walking foot; (ii) sidewardly thrusts the picker arm at a first angle, relative to a vertical axis, towards the needle along a path between the needle and the walking foot without interference; (iii) advances further sideways the picker arm at a second angle, relative to the vertical axis, greater than the first angle; and (iv) retracts away while raising the picker member in a reverse movement to complete the cycle. The thread wiper may include a microprocessor that is programmed to intelligently disable/enable the thread wiper depending on such factors as the adjustment in rise of the walking foot and/or whether the turn back operation of the sewing machine is activated. The thread wiper assembly is also suitable for use with a sewing machine that does not have a walking foot.
