    • System and method for processing videos and images to a determined quality level. According to an embodiment, the present invention provides a method for enhancing video. The method includes providing a first video element that is uncompressed. The method also includes determining motion information associated with the video element. The method further includes providing a second video element by removing at least a defect from the first video element. The second video element includes a color luminance and a luminance. In addition, the method includes de-interlacing the second video element using the motion information. Furthermore, the method includes scaling the second video element. Also, the method includes providing a third video element by enhancing the chrominance and enhancing the luminance of the second video element. The method additionally includes outputting the third video element.

    • A system for processing digital images. The system may include a controller (30) that includes a processor and a memory. The system may also include a plurality of image processing blocks operatively coupled with the controller. Each image processing block can be configured to perform a different image processing operation (28). The image processing blocks and controller can be interconnected and configured to provide a sequential pixel processing, in which each image processing block processes input pixels so as to produce output pixels, with the output pixels of an upstream one of the image processing blocks can be fed forward as the input pixels to a downstream one of the image processing blocks. The system may also include a classification block (26) configured to obtain, for each of the image processing blocks, updated classification data for the input pixels to be applied to the image processing block (28).     • The invention relates to a filter arrangement for a demodulated quadrature amplitude modulated (QAM) signal comprising a first channel (17I) for a cosinusoidale demodulated component of the QAM signal, a second channel (17Q) for a sinusoidal demodulated component of the QAM signal, a filter circuit (10', 10'') which receives two said signal components and has a transmission function for each signal component. The transmission function is comprised of terms which are in-phase with said signal component and out-of-phase with said signal component by pi /2 and/or - pi /2. The filter circuit is comprised of a cross arm (9) for tapping the out-of-phase terms of the transmission function corresponding to the portions of the signal from the other respective channel. In order to produce a filter arrangement requiring less circuitry and to integrate a semiconductor substrate onto a smaller surface, an inventive circuit configuration (19, 21; 19, 23) is provided. In a first mode, said circuit configuration connects the input of the cross arm (9) to the first channel (17I) and the output thereof to the second channel (17Q). In a second mode, said circuit configuration connects the input of the cross arm (9) to the second channel (17Q) and the output thereof to the first channel (17I). In addition, a suited slope detector is specially provided for use with said filtering arrangement.
