The control device (100) is able to utilize the network (112) optimally by generating messages based on their impact on the network (112). This may improve the control of the plurality of lighting devices (114, 116) and provide an optimized user experience.

    • System, methods and apparatus are described for extracting data and clocks from a camera control interface bus. A transmit clock may be generated while transmitting symbols on the bus, and a receive clock may be extracted when receiving symbols from the bus. A heartbeat clock may be extracted by from symbols transmitted on the bus when the apparatus is not transmitting or receiving symbols. The transmit clock may be used to encode data in a sequence of symbols for transmission on a pair of connectors of the bus. The receive clock may be extracted by detecting transitions occurring between symbols transmitted on the bus, and generating the receive clock based on the transitions. The heartbeat clock may be used to control operations of the apparatus, or synchronize one or more function of the apparatus. The heartbeat clock may be encoded in a control word transmitted on the bus.

    • Some embodiments of the invention provide a future messaging system that can be configured to analyze data from one or more data sources in an automated manner in order to detect with a degree of accuracy the occurrence of a possible future event, which may or may not occur in the future. Upon detection of the future event, the future messaging system in some embodiments provides content to a set of one or more recipients.     • A computer-implemented method and system for updating application data for a first instance of an application via C2DM is disclosed. An application server may receive a request from the first client computing device for updated application data via a network connection. The updated application data may correspond to a second instance of the application at a second client computing device. In response to determining the second instance of the application at the second client computing device supports push notifications, the system and method may generate a C2DM message including a user ID corresponding to the first client computing device and the request for updated application data. A server may then send the C2DM message to the second client computing device, wherein the C2DM message causes the second instance to wake up and generate the updated application data. The updated application data may be returned to the first client computing device.

    • A plurality of signal routing systems are disclosed. In various embodiments, the routing systems include both a crosspoint switch or switching fabric for coupling input ports to one or more output ports, thereby allowing an input signal received at one of the input ports to be transported to one or more of the output ports. The system also includes aggregation or compression modules to allow multiple input signals to be combined into compressed signal, which may be transmitted converted into optical signals for transmission to a communication network. In some embodiments, the communication network may include a packet switched router which extracts some of the input signals from the optical signals and produced packetized signals corresponding to the original input signals. The packetized signals may be coupled to output ports to which external devices are coupled. In various embodiments, the routing system may include only a packet switched router. In various embodiments, the routing system may be configured to receive various input signals including optical signals and to decompress or deaggregate such signals to form individual signals which may then be coupled to various output ports.
