    • A panoptic visualization document layout system includes a search engine and a layout engine coupled thereto. The search engine is configured to identify a document component including requested media content from a panoptic visualization document collection having a plurality of document components each of which has associated metadata providing information about the respective document component. The layout engine is configured to select a layout model according to the associated metadata for the identified document component, which metadata further includes information identifying link(s) between the identified document component and one or more other document components. The layout engine is configured to retrieve document components including the identified document component and other document component(s), and generate a layout of panoptically-arranged visual representations of the retrieved document components according to the selected layout model, and the retrieved document components and associated metadata. And the layout engine is configured to communicate the layout.

    • The present document describes a graphical user interface (GUI) for displaying and refining search results. The search results are received and stored in a queue along with a coefficient of relevance associated with each search result. The search results with the highest coefficients are displayed within the edge. A function indicating a user preference (like, dislike, etc.) is associated with the edge of the GUI, whereby when the user drags a search result toward the edge, the coefficients of the related search results are modified in accordance with a similarity factor between the dragged search result and the related search results. For example, if the user preference associated with the edge indicates that the user likes the dragged search result, the interface would increase the coefficient of the related search results and refine the search results displayed within the edge of the interface based on the modified coefficients.

    • Methods, systems, and media are provided for delivering clustered search results for recent and non-recent events by maintaining the identification (ID) numbers of the respective clustered documents beyond the "fresh" life span of the clustered documents. When clusters are formed according to similar content, an ID number and associated attributes are assigned to each of the clusters. This provides a mechanism to track and retrieve the respective clusters for subsequent delivery of search results. The respective ID numbers of the clusters are maintained, even after the documents are no longer considered "fresh." These similar-content clusters are further subdivided according to publication date. This provides individual subdivided clusters for similar content events that occurred at different time spans, which are delivered along with individual non-clustered search results in a SERP.

    • The present invention relates to a system and method for user preference analysis in a Web browser, and more particularly, to a system and method for user preference analysis in a Web browser which involves accessing, at preset time intervals, a uniform resource locator (URL) of a site to be analyzed, and capturing a screenshot so as to analyze a user preference, and which involve displaying the result of the user preference analysis together with the captured screenshot based on the user log information on the URL of the captured screenshot. To this end, a user preference analysis system in a Web browser according to the present invention comprises: an image capture unit, which accesses a preset uniform resource locator (URL) to capture a screenshot; a log information collecting unit which receives information on the user logging onto the URL from the Web browser of a user terminal; and a logging pattern providing unit which combines the captured screenshot and the log information to provide a logging pattern of users. Thus, the user preference analysis result may be easily and visually ascertained to provide convenience to an analyst.
