    • A cleaning device (10, 110, 210) may be a card-like member such as a flap (16, 116), integrally formed with a dispenser container (12), or a slotted member (36) mounted on a stand-alone cleaning device (110). A cleaning wipe fabric (22, 122) is suspended over a plurality of cleaning slots (26a-26d, 126a-126d) and held under moderate tension so that the wipe fabric, when deflected by a fiber optic end or the like being cleaned, sags within the cleaning slot to better enclose and clean the tip of the fiber optic end. Used cleaning fabric (22, 122) can easily be removed and replaced as needed to avoid using the same area of fabric more than once.

    • Disclosed is an apparatus for cleaning and scoping an optical fiber, which comprises a handheld which uses a single outlet to emit a scoping light for scoping a ferrule surface of an optical connector, and to jet a cleaning liquid for cleaning the ferrule surface and a compressed air for facilitating a cleaning operation of the cleaning liquid; a main body which supplies the cleaning liquid and the compressed air to the handheld; and a display which displays an image of the ferrule surface on the basis of the scoping light. With this configuration, the apparatus can clean and scope a ferrule surface of an optical connector at the same time even though it is inserted once in an adapter to which a ferrule of the optical connector to be cleaned is connected, thereby reducing time and efforts taken in cleaning the ferrule surface.

    • A downhole optic fiber wet-connect system includes first and second matable portions of a tool body; first and second matable portions of a connector.
