    • The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for producing wrapped bales.     • The invention relates to a method for operating a machine (1), which consumes a material (4) during operation that can be predefined in material units (9) and which can be operated in at least one first operating mode, in which the material (4) is consumed. Another application for the invention is to guarantee that machines (1) of this type, such as stretch wrap machines, can only be operated using the materials, e.g. stretch film, of a specific supplier (4).
