    • The invention can be used for processing low-magnetic materials according to magnetic properties thereof, in particular in the mining industry. The aim of said invention is to remove magnetic grains from a magnetic roller in which a magnetic field is formed along the entire circumference of the surface thereof. The inventive method for a dry magnetic separation of low-magnetic materials consists in supplying a processable material to the magnetic roller rotatable about a horizontal axis, in holding said magnetic grains on the roller by the magnetic force action, in removing the non-magnetic grains towards a non-magnetic product by means of a gravitation force action, in taking out the magnetic grains beyond the non-magnetic grain removal area during the roller rotation, in forming an electric field which is located outside of the non-magnetic grain discharge area between the magnetic roller and a non-magnetic electrode and whose intensity is such that the electrical force removing the magnetic grains from the roller surface is greater than the magnetic force pressing said grains thereto in order to transfer the magnetic grains removed from the magnetic roller by said electrical force to the magnetic product.

    • The invention relates to a lid (10) for a garbage container (12). The body (14) forming the lid defines a chute formation (16) leading to an opening (20) through which garbage can be fed via the body into a garbage container on which the body is located, in use. The walls (32, 34) of the chute formation are associated with a magnet (18) that can trap metal objects. A flap (22), optionally also having a magnet (40) associated herewith, is pivotally mounted on the body to provide for blocking of the opening while garbage is not being fed into an associated garbage container. The lid is intended to be used with garbage containers into which leftovers of eating establishments are discarded, in order to trap tableware that often are simultaneously discarded.
