    • The invention concerns a device for recuperating and storing waste, in particular in facilities or toilet-blocks operating without water. The toilet-block (1) comprises a bowl (3) whereof the internal wall is covered with a textile sheath (10) unwinding from a housing (11, 12) containing the textile reserve. The sheath (10) covers the toilet seat (2) then moves down into the bowl. The unwinding drives the faecal mass (M) towards a lower roll (15) then towards a tube (16) arranged immediately behind the roll (15) and where the same unwinding process bags the sheath containing the mass in a plastic film (14). Two meshed contra-rotating rolls (20, 21) unwind both the sheath and the film, by simple traction effect, and a special compression of the bags containing the mass by the grooves (22). The invention has multiple applications: work sites, public meetings, toilet facilities in countries with poor water resources, and the like.

    • A liquid waste disposal and canister flushing system includes a cabinet (6) with a sink (14k) for receiving the canister (4) and a subsink (141) for receiving a lower portion thereof. The subsink (141) is connected to a drain line (140). A plunger subassembly (12) includes a plunger rod (92) and a stopper (95) which functions as a drain valve for the canister (4). An injection jet (34) is connected to water and cleaning sources (21, 39) and discharges diluted cleaning solution into the canister (4) for flushing same. The injection jet (34) engages the plunger subassembly (12) for ejecting the stopper (95) from a canister opening (12a). A control system (10) includes a programmable microprocessor (50) which can be programmed to provide drain and flush cycles of predetermined duration. A method of liquid waste disposal and canister flushing is also provided.

    • A method and apparatus for removing an article from a patient comprising an extensible container or sleeve having a collar or body maintaining the neck of the container in an open position. The extensible container is initially collapsed or compressed (in an accordion or folded manner) such that a proximal end of the article may be gripped through the container and withdrawn from the patient, the container expanding or unfolding to accommodate the length of the article. A retractor or handle initially disposed within the extensible container may be used to grip and withdraw relatively lengthy items such as tubing or catheters, and the retractor may include a pulley member that permits withdrawal at twice the linear rate of displacement of the retractor relative to the body. Alternate embodiments including a truncated gripping adapter, an enclosed two-part case, a completely removable extensible container, and a toroid-shaped case are also disclosed.
