    • Described is a capacitive touch screen apparatus. An indium tin oxide (ITO) ground screen covers (12) and protects an optical display (16). One or more support structures (18) are secured atop the ground screen layer (12). A first capacitance sensing patterned ITO trace layer (8, 10) is secured atop the support structures (18) such that an air gap (20) exists between the layers. A second capacitance sensing patterned ITO trace layer (4, 6) can be secured atop the first patterned ITO trace layer (8, 10). A pointed object brought into contact with the outermost patterned ITO trace layer (4,6) will deform the surface and penetrate a portion of the air gap (20) sufficiently to register a change in capacitance at the point of contact. A protective transparent film layer (2) covering the outermost patterned ITO trace layer (4,6) can be utilized to protect the surface of the ITO layer (4,6) from damage. The ITO layers (4,6) and (8,10) are electronically coupled with a controller capable of sensing changes in capacitance.

The actuator arrangement (30a, 30b, 30c, 30d) comprises an electroactive polymer arrangement (30aa, 30ab, 30ac; 30ba, 30bb, 30bc; 30ca, 30cb, 30cc; 30aa, 30ab, 22b) arranged to be operatively actuated by said control arrangement (40, 42) so as to actuate said touch-surface (22a, 22b) for providing a perceivable feedback to the user as a response to a detected touch.

    • The present invention discloses an electric circuit (1) and method for monitoring a temperature of a light emitting diode (2). The inventive electric circuit (1) for monitoring a temperature of a light emitting diode (2) in a constant-current mode comprises a driver circuit (3) for supplying a predefined constant-current to the light emitting diode (2) to run the light emitting diode (2) in said constant-current mode, a storage (4) for storing a general dependency between a forward voltage of the light emitting diode (2) in said constant-current mode and the temperature of the light emitting diode (2), a voltage sensor (5) for measuring the actual forward voltage of the light emitting diode (2) in said constant-current mode and a calculator (6) for calculating the actual temperature of the light emitting diode (2) by using the detected general dependency and the measured actual forward voltage.
