摘要： A prepolymer or elastomer is the reaction product of reactants (a) at least one polyester polyol or fatty acid derived polyol which is the reaction product of at least one initiator and a mixture of fatty acids or derivatives of fatty acids comprising at least about 45 weight percent monounsaturated fatty acids or derivatives thereof, (b) optionally, at least one polyol which is different from the polyol of (a); and (c) at least one isocyanate compound (herein after isocyanate) having an average of at least about 1.8 isocyanate groups per molecule. A process comprises admixing reactants (a) at least one polyol composition comprising the fatty acid derived polyol which is the reaction product of at least one initiator and a mixture of fatty acids or derivatives of fatty acids comprising at least about any of 45 weight percent monounsaturated fatty acids or derivatives thereof; and (b) at least one isocyanate having an average functionality of at least about 1.8 under reaction conditions to form a reaction product which is an elastomer or prepolymer is formed therefrom. An article, coating or thermoplastic polyurethane comprises the elastomer is formed from the prepolymer of or using the process of the invention.

摘要： A composition comprises (a) a binder component which comprises (1) 5 to 100 weight percent of at least one natural oil derived polyol having at least about 50 percent primary hydroxyl groups and (2) sufficient additional polyol different from a natural oil derived polyol to make 100 percent wherein the natural oil derived polyol has an average of from 1.5 to 3 hydroxyl groups per molecule and an equivalent weight of from 200 to 5000; and (b) a crosslinking component reactive with hydroxyl groups. Furthermore, a process for producing a coating, adhesive, binder or combination thereof on the surface of a substrate, comprises in any order: (a) admixing binder and crosslinking components of a composition to form an admixture, wherein a binder component comprises (1) 5 to 100 weight percent of at least one natural oil derived polyol having at least 50 percent primary hydroxyl groups and (2) sufficient additional polyol different from a natural oil derived polyol to make 100 percent wherein the natural oil derived polyol has an average of from 1.5 to 3 hydroxyl groups per molecule and an equivalent weight of from 200 to 5000; and (b) applying a layer of said admixture on said, surface.

When blended with a polyhydroxyl compound, such blocked isocyanurate poyisocyantes are 10 particularly useful in powder and solvent-based coatings.

摘要： This invention relates to polyurethane compounds, for example, elastomers, which are the reaction product of a cycloaliphatic diisocyanate, a polyol and a chain extender. The cycloaliphatic diisocyanate comprises (i) trans-l,4bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane or (ii) an isomeric mixture of two or more of cis1,3-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane, trans- 1,3-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane, cis-1,4-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane and trans- l,4bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane, provided the isomeric mixture comprises at least 5 weight percent of said trans- l,4-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane. 摘要： A thermoset polyurethane composition having excellent impact and optical properties is prepared from a formulation comprising at least a prepolymer and a chain extender. The prepolymer includes an isocyanate component, containing 1,3-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane and at least (20) percent by weight of 1,4-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane, and an isocyanate-reactive component, containing hydroxyl, amine or thiol functionality. The isocyanate-reactive component includes from (70) to (95) percent by weight of a compound having a molecular weight from 150 to less than 950 Daltons, and from (5) to (30) percent by weight of a compound having a molecular weight from 2,000 to 4,500 Daltons. The chain extender is an aromatic, aliphatic, or cycloaliphatic polyamine compound containing at least one hydroxyl and/or thiol group. Articles that may be prepared include ophthalmic lenses, vehicle glazings, aircraft canopies, and the like.

摘要： The instant invention is a heat activated adhesive composition comprising an ultra-high solid polyurethane dispersion. The ultra-high solid polyurethane dispersion comprises (1) a first component comprising a first polyurethane prepolymer comprising the reaction product of a polyol and polyisocyanate, (2) a second component comprising a media phase selected from the group consisting of a second polyurethane prepolymer emulsion, a low solid content polyurethane dispersion, a seed latex, and combinations thereof; and (3) optionally a chain extender. The ultra-high solid polyurethane dispersion has at least a solid content of at least 60 percent by weight of solid content, based on the total weight of the ultra-high solid polyurethane dispersion, and a viscosity of less than 5000 cps at 20 rpm at 21° C using spindle #4 with Brookfield viscometer.
