摘要： A heat sink (12) and retainer clip (50, 70) for use in conjunction with an electronic integrated circuit, such as a semiconductor device (10), to provide cooling of the device, the device being mounted on a rectangular socket (4) with opposing sidewalls and at least two of the sidewalls having lugs (8, 9) projecting laterally outward. The heat sink has a flat plate and a plurality of fins (14) projecting upward from the top surface, except over the central portion (15) of the plate. The retainer clip (50, 70) is constructed of two pieces. One piece is an elongated strap (50) having a bent portion (58) that bears down on the heat sink (12) to force it into a heat conducting relationship with the device (10) and also includes an opening (54) that is hooked on one of the lugs (8, 9). The strap lies in the central portion (15) of the sink (12). The second piece (70) is rotatably mounted on the end (56) of the first piece (50) and when forced down and rotated inward, an opening (76) will hook on the other lug (8, 9).
