摘要： An inventive method for encoding wavelet-transformed video and image data, in which the video and image data comprise wavelet coefficients of a plurality of sub-bands, comprises the pooling of at least two wavelet coefficients to form a group (580, 590) of wavelet coefficients, this group (580, 590) of wavelet coefficients having wavelet coefficients from at least two different sub-bands.
