    • Provided is a support device (10) for supporting an apparatus (100) such as an outdoor unit of an air conditioning system, a hot water storage unit or a compressor and a filter unit of a pool filter system. The device has a body (12) formed of a relatively light weight, non cementitious material and the body has a support deck (14)with an unbroken top surface (16) configured for supporting the apparatus and a bottom surface (18). Perimeter walls (20 to 26) are arranged to extend downwardly from the deck and terminating at respective ground engagement ends (25) for the device to be positioned for resting it on ground or on a floor surface. The perimeter walls form a chamber (27) therein and an opening in communication with said chamber. A plurality of ribs arranged within the chamber and extending from the bottom surface for reinforcing the deck. The ribs may be configured to extend to a distance short of the ground engaging ends to define a space (31) for stacking multiple of the devices during storage or in transportation.
