    • A mixing valve assembly (16) is provided for a container structure (10). The mixing valve assembly includes a valve stem (132) having an inlet (134) within the container structure and an outlet (136) external of the container structure. The valve stem is movable between a first depressed position wherein the composition is retained in the container structure and a second position wherein the composition exits the container structure through the outlet of the valve stem. A generally concave biasing structure (156) extends from the valve stem and urges the valve stem toward the first position.

    • A beverage system includes a pump that draws a set mount of a flavored concentrate into a mixing chamber through a conduit for mixing with water to form a beverage. A sensor detects when the amount of the flavored concentrate in the conduit or in the container is low or out. The sensor includes two wings each including a recessed surface that together defines a circular space. A portion of the conduit is received in the circular space. Each of the wings includes an ultrasonic potion that emits ultrasonic waves that are non-intrusive. When the amount of flavored concentrate in the conduit is low, air bubbles are generated in the flow along the conduit and/or a vacuum is created in the conduit to draw the conduit away from the recessed surface. The ultrasonic waves detect either of these two features, indicating that the amount of the flavored concentrate is low.

    • An apparatus and method of preparing a mixture using a computerized apparatus having a plurality of vessels (34a-34f), each of which is arranged on a support structure and oriented for dispensing a fluent substance through at least one exit port and a first flow channel (74a, 74c). Each first flow channel is in further communication with a dedicated measurement assembly (64a-64f), for dosing fluent substance so dispensed, and a second flow channel (66a-66g). The apparatus also includes a receptacle support (43); and can further incorporate a user interface (16) for receiving a first input concerning the mixture plus a storage device to hold instructions for locating a respective one of the second flow channels and the receptacle support in operative relation. The apparatus can further comprise titration and mixing modules or a support structure having a framework coupled to a sustaining member for accommodating flexible-walled vessels.
