    • An actuator (30) for displacing a tool (32) is disclosed, comprising a housing (38), in which a plunger (36) with a tool holder (34) is guided such as to be displaced in the axial direction, the plunger (36) being displaced by means of a rapid drive (46), for instance by means of a piezo drive or nanotube drive, pre-tensioned against a return force and damped by a damping element.
