    • The present invention is an asset identification and information retrieval system for industrial facility components composed of a computer idenfier (105) and at leas one transponder tag (1). The transponder tags (1) emit a radio identifier signal in response to a scanning signal sent by the computer identifier (105). The computer identifier (105) is portable, battery operated and has visual displays for confirming readouts as well as a database to store multiple tag information. The system also has the capability to remotely access databases regarding tagged components, such that a field employee utilizing the computer identifier (105) can communicate with the centralized control system to receive, amend or record records and other information regarding any particular tagged asset.

    • A system for remote data acquisition and centralized processing and storage is disclosed called the DataTreasury System (600). The DataTreasury System provided comprehensive support for the processing of documents and electronic data associated with different applications including sale, business, banking and general consumer transactions. The system retrieves transaction data such as credit card receipts checks in either electronic or paper form at one or more remote locations, encrypts the data, transmits the encrypted data to a central location, transforms the data to a usable form, performs identification verification using signature data and biometric data, generates informative reports from the data and transmits the informative reports to the remote location(s). The DataTreasury System (200, 400, 600) has many advantageous features which work together to provide high performance, security, reliability, fault tolerance and low cost. First, the network architecture facilitates secure communication between the remote location(s) and the central processing facility. A dynamic address assignment algorithm performs load balancing among the system's servers for faster performance and higher utilization. Finally, partitioning scheme improves the error correction process.

    • A tracking system for tracking a plurality of items or boxes of items defined a plurality of levels that may be physically and logically organized in a hierarchy. Each level of the hierarchy only communicates with the next hierarchically lower level (if it exists) and/or a next hierarchically higher level (if it exists). The lowest hierarchical level includes a wireless tag coupled to each of the plurality of items. Each of the wireless tags may be configured to provide a unique identifier when queried. Remaining hierarchical levels may each include one or more uniquely identified computing devices that are configured to query the wireless tags or computing devices of the next hierarchically lower level, to store information including the unique identifier and any other information provided by the queried next hierarchically lower level and to provide the stored information to the computing device(s) of the next hierarchically higher level (if it exists). A sealed box or document may form a part of the hierarchy and may include a conductive as a seal mesh coupled to a wireless tag, repeater or computing device that is configured to report the state of the conductive mesh.
