摘要： An apparatus, machine and method for opening a flexible pouch includes a pair of opposed side grippers each holding a side of the pouch. A pair of opposed panel grippers each hold an upper edge of the pouch. The side grippers are displaced inwardly towards each other and the panel grippers are displaced outwardly away from each other to partially open the pouch. A pair of pouch opening fingers are displaceable between a raised position above the pouch and a lowered position within the pouch. The pouch opening fingers are open in the raised position and closed after lowered into the lowered position, to grip the wall of the pouch. The pair of pouch opening fingers move together a predetermined distance in an outboard direction to fully separate the pouch walls.

摘要： Drinking cup lids are especially adapted and configured to afford some measure of protection to the game piece (24) from beverage seepage through a straw opening. Preferably, the cup lid is configured so that a game piece is spaced above the straw opening co-located within a recessed well (20) of the lid thereby allowing beverage seepage to remain physically separated from the game piece. Access to the beverage within the cup is facilitated by providing a cross-cut straw aperture (22) in the game piece which is in substantial alignment to the straw opening formed in the lid. A beveled segment (16-3) of a raised plateau (16) on which the game piece is affixed allows a tab (24-3) associated with the game piece to be more easily grasped and removed by a customer to reveal the printed text/indicia of the game piece.

The can top is shaped to define a groove between a lower inside edge of the rim of the can top and an upper surface of the can top. A non-toxic groove cover is disposed to cover the groove along at least a portion of the groove that is located adjacent to the openable section of the can top. The groove cover prevents collection of debris in the groove. The groove allows the can top to be wiped clean without debris getting stuck in the groove by sloping upwards towards the top of the tim. The groove can also cover the rim and an upper portion of the can body. The groove cover remains in place before, during and after opening of the can and while pouring to provide a more sanitary drinking experience.
