    • The present invention provides a cabinet adapted to organize electrical cables comprising: a base (2) for supporting the cabinet on a substantially planar surface; a rear panel (1); a top panel (5); oppositely arranged side panels (4, 12); a front panel (3); said rear, top, front and side panels arranged to enclose an interior portion of said cabinet; and power supply means (7); characterized in that the front panel includes an opening allowing access to the interior portion of the cabinet, the opening comprising a door (8, 13) adapted to close the opening; each of the top and side panels comprise a planar surface including a plurality of openings (6) through which electrical cables may pass; and the power supply means is adapted such that only one power cable (9) need pass to the exterior of the cabinet to be plugged into a live power receptacle. A desk (11) comprising the cabinet of the present invention is also provided.

    • The invention relates to the electrification of a modular furniture system that is provided with a plurality of constructional elements adapted to receive functional furniture modules, comprising multiple connectors (21 or 31) that are fastened on a part of the constructional element and cables (22 or 32) that are supported on a part of the constructional element. Said cables (22 or 32) have a defined length and electrically interconnect the multiple connectors (21 or 31) of two adjacent constructional elements. Preferably, said constructional elements are closed frames (1, 2 or 19) that are composed of at least two vertical longitudinal beams (5 or 6) and at least two horizontally linked crossbars (3 or 4). The multiple connectors (21 or 31) are engaged in such a manner in slots (7) provided on the longitudinal beams (5 or 6) that they can be slid along said slots (7). The multiple connectors can also be fastened via a locking system or a fastener that projects from the longitudinal bars (5 or 6).
