    • An imaging method for forming a bidimensional image of a self-radiating object (O) or of an object that is selectively penetrable by radiation. In the method, a discrete aperture is employed which has an area wider than a spot-like aperture and which consists of a finite number of pixels belonging to the same periodic lattice, the radiation used for the imaging being confined to pass through said aperture. In the aperture, an exchangeable series of masks is installed, so that, of the object, a pseudo-image is stored per each component code. The image of the object (O) is synthesized out of said pseudo-images by means of a decoding algorithm. By means of the masks, the radiation field that passes through the aperture is modulated in accordance with the component codes of the CV codes in accordance with the present invention defined for the L-pixel discrete aperture.

    • The invention relates to a method and apparatus for analyzing paper quality, where the radiation obtained from a radiation source (1) is allowed to be transmitted through a paper sample (2) under examination, the absorption of the sample is measured, and on the basis of this measurement, there are defined characteristic features for the sample, which features describe the paper quality and by means of which the paper quality is assessed. In this method the sample (2) under examination is pictured as a two-dimensional image by means of a camera (3), which image is then analyzed sub-part by sub-part, and the said features are defined for it. The image is recorded in a memory (4) and treated as a matrix in an analyzing unit (5). The matrix is analyzed by defining characteristic features for it, so that the matrix is observed sub-part by sub-part, starting from the whole image and by advancing towards the meanest spatial resolution, which corresponds to the smallest sensor resolution in the matrix; there is formed a table of the variances for each sub-part of the matrix, particularly for the spatial resolution; and the employed variance is the variance of radiation intensity transmitted to each sub-part. The readings contained in each table correspond to the said features, whereby the paper quality is assessed.

    • The invention concerns a procedure for studying the wear of road surfaces in conditions simulating real traffic. In the procedure, on the piece to be tested are directed impacts with impact velocity of a given height with a testing piece which consists of rubber and of a spike mounted therein, whereat the trace from the impact on the piece to be tested substantially corresponds to the real effect of an automobile tyre spike on said material. The invention furthermore comprises a road surface wear testing means comprising a power means (1) to which has been connected a testing piece (2) consisting of rubber and of a spike (4) mounted therein; a supporting member (6) for the material to be tested (5); and measuring and control means (7) for measuring and regulating the velocity of the impact directed by the testing piece on the material to be tested.
